Origin of mango mint mojito mocktail

The traditional Mojito, a classic Cuban cocktail, typically consists of rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint.

However, the Mango Mint Mojito takes a delightful detour by incorporating the tropical allure of mangoes into the mix, offering a vibrant twist on the original recipe.

The addition of mangoes adds a luscious, fruity dimension that harmonizes beautifully with the tangy zing of lime and the cooling essence of fresh mint.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Ripe Mangoes: Selecting ripe and juicy mangoes is crucial to achieving the full-bodied sweetness that complements the drink. However, you can use frozen mangoes for your mango mojito mocktail.
  • Fresh Mint Leaves: The aromatic essence of mint adds a refreshing and cooling element to the mocktail.

Instructions

Prepare the Mango puree

Get your fresh and ripe mangoes. Wash them under cleaning running water to remove dirt. Peel your mangoes and them into small chunks. Put them I your food processor or blended and blend until smooth into a puree. Set the puree aside.

Muddle

In a sturdy glass, place your fresh mint leaves and lime slices. Muddle them using a muddler so as to release their flavour. If using ready made lime juice, muddle the mint leaves alone.

Assemble your mocktail

It’s time to assemble your mint mocktail. Combine your mango puree with the muddled mint leaves, simple syrup and limed in a glass. Stir to mix the ingredients. Fill your drinking glass with ice cubes. Add soda water or sprite to half full. Add above mixture and stir to mix. Garnish with a mango slice or a lime slice and fresh mint leaves. Enjoy your drink!

Notes

Tips for success

Choose Ripe Mangoes: Select ripe and juicy mangoes for the best flavor. Look for ones that yield slightly to gentle pressure and emit a sweet aroma near the stem.
Fresh Ingredients: Opt for fresh mint leaves and use freshly squeezed lime juice for optimal taste and aroma.
Muddling Technique: When muddling the mint leaves, be gentle to release the oils without overbruising them, as this can make the drink bitter.
Use Sparkling Water Wisely: Add sparkling water or soda water just before serving to maintain its effervescence and keep the mocktail fizzy.
Garnish for Appeal: Garnish the mocktail with a fresh mint sprig and a slice of mango on the rim of the glass for an attractive presentation.
Experiment with Texture: For a variation in texture, consider blending the ingredients with ice for a slushy, frozen Mango Mint Mojito.
Customize to Preference: Feel free to personalize your mocktail by adding a touch of spiciness with a pinch of chili powder or experimenting with other herbs like basil or cilantro.
