Teissiere mint syrup is a refreshing French mint syrup drink. This teissiere syrup was first made by Mathieu Teissiere who introduced fruit based beverages in France.
Green Mint syrup is my favourite after espresso coffee syrup. To make this mint teissiere syrup, I used fresh green mint leaves, water and pure cane sugar. That simple!
This syrup is kid-friendly, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and non-alcoholic drink that can be enjoyed by everyone.
Our homemade teissure syrup has no artificial sweeteners, preservatives or colours. It’s purely natural and organic.

Servings 1
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh green mint leaves washed and stems removed
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups granulated sugar
Instructions
Infusion Process:
- In a saucepan, combine the fresh mint leaves and water.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, allowing the mint leaves to infuse the water for about 10 minutes.
Straining:
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mint infusion cool slightly.
- Strain the mint leaves, pressing them gently to extract the flavor, and discard the leaves.
Simple Syrup:
- Return the mint-infused water to the saucepan and add granulated sugar.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar completely dissolves, forming a simple syrup.
Cooling:
- Allow the mint syrup to cool to room temperature. This ensures that the flavors fuse together.
Storage:
- Transfer the cooled mint syrup to a clean, airtight container. Store Teissiere mint syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Recipe tips
- For a more intense mint flavor, let the mint leaves steep longer during the initial infusion.
