How to make a simple vegan guacamole for one recipe at home

  1. Wash the avocado

Start by washing the avocadoe under clean running water to remove dirt. Cut the avocado into halves. Scoop the avocado flesh into a clean mixing bowl.

  2. Mash

Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocado to your desired texture and chunkiness. You can mash until smooth or leave it abit chunky.

  3. Add your vegetables

Add the finely chopped red onion, diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro to the mashed avocados.

  4. Add jalapeño pepper

If you like your guacamole to have some heat, finely chop the jalapeño pepper (seeds and membranes removed for less heat) and add it to the mixture. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after handling the pepper.

  5. Add lime juice

Squeeze the juice of one or two limes into the bowl, depending on your taste preference. Lime juice adds a tangy flavor and helps prevent the avocados from browning.

  6. Season your guacamole

Season your guacamole with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a pinch of salt and adjust as needed. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

  7. Taste

Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning or lime juice if necessary. You can add more lime juice for extra tang or more salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.

  8. Serve and enjoy

Serve your vegan guacamole with tortilla chips, fresh vegetable sticks, or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or any Mexican-inspired dish.
    Enjoy your homemade vegan guacamole!
